Last Wednesday night, me and my Mum headed to Be At One’s Ladies Night in conjunction with Benefit. There’s no denying that I’m a huge fan of Be At One. Since it came to Birmingham, I’ve visited a dozen times and its been a regular feature on all my social media platforms; I can’t stop tagging myself there, snapping pictures as I make my way through their 160+ cocktails and raving about how good this new(ish) bar is. So I couldn’t resist buying a ticket for this exciting event…
Tickets were available to buy on DesignMyNight for only £30 and included a welcome drink, a mini cocktail masterclass with 2 cocktails, makeover masterclass and £15 towards any Benefit product of your choice. The event and everything it included had already won me over, and then the cost sealed the deal as I thought it was an excellent value price for an all-round night out.
When we arrived, we were greeted with a welcome drink in the form of a delicious Bellini, and split into two groups…
Makeover Masterclass
We opted to do the Makeover part of the night first which was ran by Benefit make-up artists from their concession in Debenhams Birmingham. Brows and Contouring were the topics of the night and we were shown all of their fabulous products and how to apply them, including their new range of brow products. We also had some one-to-one time and were given individual guidance & help on our specific beauty dilemmas. The girls from Benefit were really friendly, helpful and passionate, and me and my Mum came away having learnt how to perfect our brows.
Cocktail Masterclass
Next up was the mini cocktail masterclass led by Joe, one of Be At One’s expert bartenders. The session was really fun and exciting and whilst we only had a taster of their Cocktail Masterclass, it was one of the best I’ve done and I will certainly be booking one soon.
Joe started with a brief introduction on the history of cocktails which was really interesting, engaging and full of funny anecdotes.
We then got the chance to go behind the bar and make a cocktail of our choice; I opted for the June Bug, a fruity, sweet & moreish cocktail with Midori, Malibu, Banana Liqueur, Pineapple Juice and Lemon Juice. So good that when Joe made us each our 2nd cocktail, I just had to chose it again.
Overall:
Combining two of my favourite things – cocktails and make up – the event was always going to be perfect for me! And it didn’t disappoint. I had a fantastic evening with Be At One and Benefit! Be At One will be running similar events soon in the future which I’ll definitely be attending too.
