After a year long break from the blogging world, I’ve been keen to attend a bloggers event since I launched Taylah’d For in May. And last Wednesday I finally got the chance to at a Birmingham’s Blogger Meet Up. The event was hosted by Brum Bloggers, which is run by the lovely Ting Newall and Laura Creaven.
On the night we headed to The Gin Vault, one of Birmingham’s newest bar located on the Gas Street Basin, for a night of gin, tapas, gin and more gin… With House G&T’s priced at £4.95 for a single or £6.50 for double and over 30 Gins on offer, The Gin Vault is a haven for gin lovers.
Admittedly I’m not a huge G&T fan, so their cocktail special of the week Gin Genie appealed to me. A twist on a classic mojito, the bartender expertly churned Gin, Lemon Juice and Mint together before topping it with Sloe Gin. It was amazing; so good that I ordered it twice, and I beg them to permanently add it to the menu.
On the night we were treated to a delicious selection of tapas by The Gin Vault which we paid for ‘in tweets’. I sampled the following dishes:
- Satay Chicken Skewers
- Coconut Butterfly Prawns
- Calamari with Garlic Aioli
- Meatballs in Marinara Sauce
- Spanish Chorizo
- Mango Chicken Skewers
I really enjoyed all of the dishes, with the meatballs and prawns being highlights for me. The prices are really good value and competitive for the city too, with each dish costing only £4 or 3 for £10.
The Gin Vault have created a winning combination with G&Ts and tapas to share. There’s nothing nicer than a relaxed evening sipping drinks and nibbling on food with friends, especially in an inviting, cosy venue. I’ll definitely be back soon!
Disclosure: I paid for my drinks, but the food was paid for in ‘tweets’. As always, all opinions are honest and my own
